Supporting our players, year after year
Oak Flats Junior Soccer Club has been part of the local community for over 50 years, and everything we do is powered by volunteers who genuinely care about the kids who play here. Our Executive Committee exists to make sure every player – from Minis to Under 18s – has a safe, positive and enjoyable soccer experience.
We’re not a high-pressure, performance-driven club. We’re a community club.
Our focus is fun, friendships, healthy activity, and helping kids fall in love with the game. The committee’s role is to keep that mission at the centre of everything.
What the Executive Committee does
Our committee oversees the smooth running of the club across four key areas:
1. Player experience
- Making sure kids feel welcome, included and supported
- Ensuring teams can stay together with friends up until the Under 12 grading requirements set by Football South Coast
- Promoting fair play, confidence and a lifelong love of football
- Ensuring all coaches and managers have the support they need
2. Community connections
- Building strong relationships with local families, schools and small businesses
- Supporting club events, Presentation Day, fundraisers and social activities
- Creating a club culture that feels safe, friendly and fun for all
3. Club operations
- Registration management and club communications
- Overseeing equipment, uniforms, field set-up and game-day logistics
- Ensuring volunteer support across coaching, managing, canteen and game-day roles
- Coordinating with Football South Coast regarding fixtures, rules and club requirements
4. Long-term sustainability
- Ensuring the club stays affordable and accessible
- Managing finances responsibly
- Growing our volunteer base
- Supporting facilities and improvements for the future generations of Oak Flats players

Why our volunteers matter
Our club is entirely volunteer-run. Every game played, sausage sizzled, field marked and team supported is thanks to parents, carers and community members who give their time.
We’re proud of the culture that has grown here:
friendly, supportive, relaxed and always focused on the kids.
If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to welcome you. Even one hour a season makes a difference.
