Codes of Conduct

At Oak Flats Junior Soccer Club, creating a safe, respectful and enjoyable environment is just as important as what happens on the field. Our Codes of Conduct exist to support positive experiences for players, families, volunteers and officials, and to ensure everyone involved in the club understands their role in upholding our values.

Soccer is a team sport – and that extends beyond the players. The way we speak to each other, support our kids, respect officials and represent the club shapes the experience for everyone involved. Our Codes of Conduct provide clear expectations around behaviour, communication and sportsmanship so that matches, training and club events remain welcoming and inclusive for all.

What the Codes of Conduct cover

The following documents outline the standards of behaviour expected across different roles within the club:

  • Player Code of Conduct
Sets expectations for players around respect, effort, teamwork and behaviour on and off the field.
  • Parent Code of Conduct
Outlines how parents and carers can best support their children, the team, coaches and officials in a positive and constructive way.
  • Spectator Code of Behaviour
Applies to all spectators and reinforces respectful conduct on the sidelines, including language, behaviour and interactions with referees and opposing teams.
  • National Code of Conduct and Ethics
All club Codes of Conduct are aligned with the Football Australia Code of Conduct and Ethics, which sets the national standards for integrity, respect, safety and behaviour across the sport.

Why this matters

Oak Flats Junior Soccer Club is a community-run club built on volunteers, families and a shared love of the game. Clear standards help us:

  • protect the wellbeing of players and officials
  • create a positive, pressure-free environment for kids
  • support coaches and volunteers in their roles
  • ensure everyone feels welcome and respected

All players, parents and spectators are expected to read and adhere to the relevant Code of Conduct. Breaches may be addressed in line with club policies and Football South Coast guidelines.

Our shared responsibility

By being part of Oak Flats Junior Soccer Club, you are helping to shape the culture of the club. We ask everyone involved to lead by example, treat others with respect, and remember that junior sport should always be a positive and enjoyable experience.
